JCI Orchid x ANRC: Hearts and Hands Community Project

Sometimes, we don't realise how much a small act of kindness or a simple conversation can mean to someone else.

Together with the Adventist Nursing Rehabilitation Centre (ANRC), JCI Orchid spent a meaningful Sunday morning with approximately 25–27 elderly participants, creating fuzzy flower arrangements, chatting, laughing, and simply spending time together.

Since we first started collaborating with ANRC in 2025, one thing that has really stayed with us is seeing the same seniors come back each year. This time, several of them recognised our volunteers and warmly said, "I haven't seen you for a year already." It was such a heartwarming reminder that while we may think it's just another community project, our presence and the time we spend with them are remembered.

As part of JCI's International Human Duties Day, this project reflected our commitment to Serve Humanity, Respect Human Personality, and Preserve Life, while supporting UN SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-being) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities & Communities) by encouraging social connection and inclusion.

For us, Hearts & Hands wasn't just about making flowers. It was a reminder that meaningful impact doesn't always come from doing something big. Sometimes, it's simply about showing up, spending time with others, and remembering that even the smallest acts of kindness can leave a lasting impression.
