Ready. Set. Respond.

A safer, more resilient community begins when we empower individuals with the confidence to care for one another. On Saturday, 18 July 2026, that belief came to life at our "Ready. Set. Respond." emergency preparedness workshop, organised in wonderful collaboration with the Singapore Red Cross.

The heart of this initiative was simple yet profound: to protect and value human life. By opening our doors to members from across JCI Singapore chapters and the wider public, the event served as a beautiful reflection of UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and the powerful ethos of International Human Duties Day—the fundamental duty to Preserve Life.

We were thrilled to welcome 15 vibrant participants for the hands-on basic first aid training session. The energy in the room was palpable as everyone practiced essential skills under the patient and engaging guidance of our Red Cross trainer, Vinod. In an inspiring milestone for our chapter, eight of these dedicated individuals stayed on to complete their formal assessments, successfully stepping up as officially certified, national first-aiders. Knowing that our community now has eight more pairs of qualified hands ready to help in a crisis is incredibly meaningful.

We are also immensely grateful to Smith+Nephew, whose generous sponsorship provided each participant with a premium medical essentials kit to take home alongside their new skills.
